We collect as little personal data as we can, we use it only to run FanSee, and you stay in control. This page explains how.
1. Who is responsible for your data
FanSee Ltd (“FanSee”) is the data controller. Registered office: College House, 17 King Edwards Road, Ruislip, England, HA4 7AE. Contact: privacy@fansee-app.com.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password.
- Creator details: your page name, handle, tagline, bio and the posts and images you publish. Payout verification details are collected and held by our payments partner, not by us.
- Activity: who you follow, memberships, unlocked posts, likes and comments.
- Payments: a record of what was bought, when and for how much. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Messages and reports: what you send us through the contact form or when you report content.
- Technical data: basic server logs (such as IP address and browser type) used for security and fixing faults.
3. Why we use it — and our legal bases
- To provide FanSee (create your account, deliver content, process payments): performance of our contract with you.
- To keep people safe and meet legal duties (moderation, fraud prevention, tax and accounting records, responding to lawful requests): legal obligation and our legitimate interests in running a safe platform.
- To communicate with you (receipts, account and safety notices, replies to your messages): contract and legitimate interests.
- Product news if you sign up to our newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising or profiling.
4. Who we share it with
- Payments partner — to take payments and pay creators.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to store data and run the service, under contracts that protect it.
- Email provider — to send receipts and account emails.
- Creators — they can see your name and comments on their posts, and that you're a member. They don't get your email address.
- Authorities — where the law requires, or to protect people from serious harm.
If data is transferred outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision) are in place.
5. How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is open, and deleted when you delete it.
- Financial records: up to 7 years, as required for tax and accounting law (kept in anonymised form where possible).
- Safety reports and records of enforcement: as long as needed to protect users and meet legal duties.
- Contact messages: up to 2 years.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a portable copy. You can download your data and delete your account yourself from Settings once you have an account. For anything else, email privacy@fansee-app.com and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
7. Cookies
We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. See our cookie policy.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions use signed, HTTP-only cookies, uploads are checked before they are stored, and access to data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever have a breach that puts your rights at risk we'll tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
9. Children
FanSee is for adults. You must be 18 or over to use it. If we learn a person under 18 has an account, we will close it.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you directly.
